New Family Life Pastor – Rev. David Banks
Welcome Dinner – January 11th after morning service.
We were thrilled to make an exciting announcement on Sunday, Dec. 14th following the Children’s Program that we will soon be welcoming Rev. David Banks and family. Pastor Dave will be serving as our Family Life Pastor with the primary portfolio of Children’s Ministries.
We have seen tremendous growth in all of our Children’s Programs over the years, and especially in our Wednesday night Ministries of Royal Rangers and MPact Girls Clubs. It takes a great team effort through transportation, meal preparers, telephone volunteers, leaders and assistants to make it happen. And guess what? It will still take a team to make it happen! However, Pastor Dave will help with much of the coordination to help us bring these ministries to the next level!
Also on Sunday Mornings, the Children’s Church will be led by Pastor Dave on a consistent basis. Again, God has blessed us greatly with amazing volunteers who will still be very much needed. Perhaps in a different role, but rest assured, you are needed!
Pastor Dave will also help in various other ways to bring greater impact to many of the events we have as well as ministering from time to time and hospital visitation of both children and adults.
Theresa will be working on furthering her education as she transfers to HACC by taking some classes there as she prepares for becoming an X-Ray Lab Technician.
Zack (20) is in the National Guard and will be joining his family as they move to the area, and will contribute on the worship team and other areas as God leads.
Jessica (20) will be continuing her education at the Assemblies of God College in Lakeland Florida (Southeastern Bible College). She is taking courses for a Music Education Major.
Pastor Dave has served in Children’s Ministries for the past 15 years in the Pittsburgh area and brings a wealth of experience in all the areas we were looking to fill. He has already been asked to serve at Kids Camp for the Penn Del District this Summer by speaking for 2 weeks.
In addition, he will also be a speaker at the Kids Winter Breakaway in February. We are also excited to soon make attending Bible Camp at our District Campground more available to our Children here at Millersburg AG!
This is a step of faith for both his family, and for our church, yet we have seen over and over again how faithful God is when we are willing to “step into the water”, and yes, even at times before it has parted! We are encouraging everyone to continue to be faithful in your giving, as well as asking the Lord if you are able to simply increase just a bit each week. Everyone can’t, but many can!
What does Jesus think of children?
Matthew 19:14 (NKJV) 14 But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.”
January 4th – Pastor Dave and family will be introduced
January 11th – Welcome fellowship for the Banks family following the morning service.
