Dear Church Family,

We are in the midst of a tremendous trial both, as a Nation, as well as the World as we seek answers for Coronavirus. We continue in prayer for a quick, lasting resolution to the pandemic.

I'm reminded of a wonderful Scripture in Psalms 46:1-3 (NIV) God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging”. With all my heart, I believe we continue to serve a good God who has already been to "tomorrow" and knows "the rest of the story". While we continue to have great faith in God, we also must use our God-given wisdom during these times.

Some may be wondering what we plan to do as a church, so we would like to outline the following, realizing of course that the situation continues to be fluid and things could change.

  • We are doubling (and tripling) cleaning efforts in restrooms and other areas.

  • Our plan is to meet this Sunday as well as following Sundays for services as usual at 10:30 AM.

  • Please note that we will be broadcasting our services online as usual. If you feel you would be better off staying at home, we certainly do understand. It is understood for the most part that the elderly with underlying health conditions are more susceptible to the virus than those who are younger.

  • As always, we continue to have hand sanitizers throughout both the upper and lower levels of the church. The best way to clean our hands is good old-fashioned soap and water.  We are a "shaking hands kind of church", yet until this passes over, our ushers and greeters will not be welcoming in this manner. They WILL be smiling though!

  • Anyone (child or adult) who may be sick, please just stay home and get well.

If we need to communicate to the entire church, we can easily do so with our computer phone call list, in addition to our email list. If you need to make sure we have your information, please email pastor@millersburgag.org with an updated phone number and/or email address.

Giving options are posted on our website here and giving may be done either at Church, Online or by Mail.

While we can wash our hands to help protect us physically, I believe we can wash our minds to keep our spiritual lives strong as well! Ephesians 5:25-26 - Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word. (Stay in the Word!)

Proverbs 3:25-26 - Have no fear of sudden disaster or of the ruin that overtakes the wicked, for the LORD will be your confidence and will keep your foot from being snared”

2 Tim. 1:7 - For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

In closing, I would like you to pray in faith against this in Jesus' mighty and powerful Name! There is nothing quite so powerful as when we as God's people stand on His Word against attacks from the enemy.

Let's pray for our President and Congress. Pray against all those who would wish to profit from peril or confusion, especially those in the media who have a vested financial interest in turmoil. Pray for such a spirit of unity that God will be glorified and people will have to acknowledge that we have seen a miracle!

Like the victorious Elijah when the prophets of Baal were defeated and the people could only shout: 1 Kings 18:39b ...“The LORD, He is God! The LORD, He is God!”

I believe we can see not only Revival, but an influx of hungry and thirsty people seeking God and many for the very FIRST time!

Sincerely,
Pastor Norman Lawrence & Church Board
